Salma Hayek knows the importance of healthy eating and it’s something she’s teaching her daughter, Valentina, because healthy eating habits should start when kids are young. The actress is co-founder of the Cooler Cleanse Juice Generation and she loves smoothies and juicing, which is so great for your skin. Below is her favorite juice recipe and other Latin-infused smoothies that do wonders for your skin.

  • 2-3 carrots, peeled

  • 1 apple, seeded

  • ½ small beet

  • ¼ lemon, peeled or juiced

  • Add to your juicer or blend until smooth

According to the site, Hayek learned early about the incredible healing and beautifying effects of homemade products from her grandmother, who made moisturizers and masks from local ingredients they had in their home. Her grandmother taught her that beauty starts in the kitchen and it’s something that she is also teaching her daughter. “Carrots and apples give you a super boost of vitamin A and antioxidants. My daughter loves this juice,” says Hayek to People.

Clear Skin Coconut Avocado Smoothie

Coconut is a natural oil that helps penetrate your skin and hair better than other oils and avocados are rich in healthy fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants, which will keep your skin stay moisturized and looking great.

  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut water

  • ½ avocado

  • 1/3 cup of blueberries

  • Handful of spinach leaves

  • 1-2 tablespoons of hemp

  • ½ teaspoon of Spirulina powder

  • Add to your juicer or blend until smooth

Healthy Hair Mango Strawberry Smoothie

Mangoes and strawberries are not only delicious when blended together, but strawberries are packed with vitamin C, which helps strengthen your hair and mangoes help condition your hair and promote hair growth. This smoothie will not only help your hair grow but keep it shiny and healthy!

  • 3 chard leaves

  • 1 mango

  • 1 cup of strawberries

  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt

  • ¼ cup of walnuts

  • 1 tablespoon of flax seed

  • ½ cup of water

Pear and Blueberry Smoothie for Oily Skin
